Is XTB safe, or is it a scam?
Since XTB is a European broker, it follows certain regulators. The UK-registered XTB company is regulated by the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority). The broker is also regulated in Poland by KNF, and in China by CMB.
XTB thoroughly follows regulatory’ guidelines by offering security and transparency to its traders, which is the most important thing when selecting a broker. A licensed and regulated broker will provide a safer trading environment.
At XTB, the security of funds is of paramount importance. All client funds are held in segregated accounts and are regularly checked for compliance by the FCA. In addition to this, the FSCS protects clients up to £50,000 in the unlikely event of insolvency.
Even though XTB serves additional entities in the Belize offshore zone, we believe the broker offers a safe trading environment, even though offshore firms are not usually recommended due to high risks.
As a European-based broker, the XTB cannot offer high leverage ratios due to strict ESMA regulations.
Traders may use a maximum level of 1:30 for Forex instruments, 1:5 for Stocks, and even lower for some additional assets.
However, it is crucial to remember that these restrictions protect traders from high losses. Higher leverage ratios may pose a significant risk to any trader for money loss. Thus, 1:30 is still a good level to maintain potentially successful trading, but with lower risks involved.
In addition to this, XTB offers higher leverage of up to 1:500 to professional clients.
XTB offers two accounts types: the Standard Account and the Pro Account. Account capabilities may vary based on where you live.
The Standard account type offers over 1500 financial instruments, such as CFDs in Forex, Commodities, Indices, Crypto, Shares, ETFs. Usually, the maximum leverage is 1:30, while the minimum spread is 0.00008. Negative balance protection is applicable, and the minimum order is 0.01. Account setup and management are completely free. No commission is charged on forex, indices, commodities, and stocks. Commission from 0.08% per lot is charged on Stock CFDs and ETF CFDs.
The Pro Account type also offers over 1500 financial instruments, such as CFDs in Forex, Commodities, Indices, Crypto, Shares, ETFs. Normally, the maximum leverage is 1:30, while the minimum spread is 0.00001. Negative balance protection is applicable, and the minimum order is 0.01. Account setup and management are completely free too. Commission from 3.50 EUR per lot is charged on forex, indices, and commodities. Commission from 0.08% per lot is charged on Stock CFDs and ETF CFDs.
Generally speaking, accounts with approximately the same options and benefits provided by XTB, apart from the difference in swap rates and spread levels ranging from 0.35 pips on the Standard Account and 0.28 pips on the Pro Account a commission of $3.50 per lot.
The broker’s non-trading fees are average while the trading fees are competitive and low. The broker also offers good spreads on Stock CFD trading. XTB charges swap fees.
There are several ways to deposit funds into a trading account, including the most popular and secure payment methods, so that you can transfer funds relatively quickly. However, check the applicable conditions to ensure that you are not charged anything extra.
The minimum deposit is $250, but you may be required to deposit more money for the PRO Account.
Financing fees, bank transfers, withdrawals, and deposits by credit cards are free of charge. XTB accepts the following currencies: EUR, USD, GBP. However, other payment methods incur additional costs – for example, 2% of the deposited amount via PayPal and Skrill.
How do I withdraw money from XTB?
In order to withdraw funds from your account, the client must proceed with an online request and choose where to transfer the money (nominated bank). Another nice feature that XTB does not charge a fee for inactivity.

XTB offers two leading platforms that the clients can choose from xStation5 and MT4. xStation5 is a proprietary platform, built by XTB themselves. Nevertheless, it’s a well-recognized platform that is known for its efficiency and progressive design. It offers fast execution and a very comprehensive charting package. xStation 5 won ‘Best Trading Platform’ at the Online Personal Wealth Awards and ‘Best FX Proprietary Platform’ at the Forex Magnates Awards.
The platform is available on desktop and mobile, but can also be used via WebTrader. xStation5 is fully customizable and relatively fast. It offers useful tools such as calculators, advanced charts, trader statistics, bulk orders, traders talk, and advanced technical analysis. The web platform is easily accessible via any browser, but is less comprehensive and has fewer tools. For intraday trading, it’s better to use the desktop platform that has more tools available.
xStation5 also offers market sentiments that show current ‘bear and bull’ trends for various markets. The platform also has an equity screener that filters stocks and searches for new opportunities.
XTB also offers the well-known MT4 platform, but with some enhanced features like fast, reliable trading execution, multi-asset coverage, no dealing desk intervention, no requotes, and Expert Advisors.
The support team at XTB offers relevant and quick answers and is available on a 24/5 basis. The team is multi-lingual and is reachable via live chat, email, and phone.
Since customer service is not available on weekends, clients can leave their requests via email, and it will be answered on Monday.
One of XTB’s goals is to help brokers develop their trading strategies. The broker provides a comprehensive training program designed to build skills and knowledge for every trader’s level. The broker offers video tutorials and guides via their Trading Academy, online webinars, and live market analysis. XTB also has a Trading Club – this is a traders’ community with one-to-one mentoring and expert trainers.
As a multi-asset broker, XTB offers a well-balanced trading experience while being regulated by several major financial regulators and is considered a reliable broker.
Beyond quality service, the broker’s robust platform and offerings to clients have earned it excellent ratings. XTB aims to maintain long-term cooperation with active traders, which is one of its main objectives. As a whole, XTB offers more than other brokers, and that’s certainly worth noting.
